INTENT TO ENTER FORM

We appreciate your interest in this year’s Knox Gallery Community Exhibition! To apply, please complete the form below, noting that all fields are required. See requirements below.

  • 1 piece of work per person by any Monterey artist or friend, 2 or 3 dimensional.

  • Maximum size is 18” x 24” (or 432 square inches), including frame. If your piece consists of 2 (or more) parts, the parts must be firmly attached and fit within size requirement in total.

  • Work on paper must be framed or mounted and then wired.

  • Pedestals are available, please let us know if you will need one.

  • All work must be wired for hanging. (no clips or brackets.) Please make sure the wire is tight and is approximately ¼ way down from the top.

  • The sale of any work is handled between artist and buyer, and we will assemble a price list that will be available at the front of the gallery. It will contain your phone number or email address.

  • If your work is not for sale, please mark the price as ‘NFS’

  • Please make sure that when your work is dropped off you have attached labels (see “About” page for link). One to be attached securely to the back of your piece. This will remain on work through the show for identification. One piece to be attached so that it is visible from the front. This will allow us to identify the piece when we are making the inventory list, once installation and inventory list is complete, this label will be removed.

  • All work must be delivered and picked up on specified dates, we do not have room for storage. If you are unable to do this yourself, please find a friend who can do this for you.

  • We do require contact information so that we know where to reach you in case any questions or changes arise.

  • Additionally, all sales and inquiries to be directed to the artist, so contact information will be listed on show inventory list.

  • It is suggested that 25% of any sales be donated to the Friends of the Monterey Library. The Friends of the Monterey Library supports the Knox Gallery. Please support the Friends of the Monterey Library and our community of artists.

  • If you plan on offering your work for sale to visitors of the exhibition, please note its price in US dollars. If your work is not for sale, please mark the price as “NFS.”

By providing your name for electronic signature and submitting this application, you acknowledge and agree with the following terms and conditions of our community exhibition:

  • Artwork will be displayed in the Knox Gallery at the Monterey Library, open to the public daily during regular library hours. Check the Monterey Library website calendar for events that will be happening in the room that might conflict with optimal viewing. The Gallery is not staffed full-time, but the building is secure when not in use. All visitors will be prohibited from touching the Artwork unless explicitly encouraged by the artist.

  • The Artist agrees to hold the Monterey Library, the Friends of the Monterey Library, and the Knox Gallery Committee harmless from any liability for works exhibited. Artist assumes all risks of loss or damage for works exhibited. In the event of a sale, artist is responsible for any sales tax due to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

We encourage participating artists to volunteer to help during drop off and pick time slots. If you are unable to participate at those particular times, but would like to help us out in other ways, please let us know at julieshapiro2@gmail.com. We are an all volunteer organization and any additional help would be welcomed.
