Curious About AI? Join Us at the Library
Have you been hearing a lot about artificial intelligence lately and wondered what it's all about, or whether it could actually be useful in your daily life? You're not alone, and this class is made for you.
We are offering a new four-week course called Basic AI Literacy and Skills, designed for complete beginners. No tech background needed. No special equipment required. Just bring your curiosity.
During this class, you'll get a friendly, hands-on introduction to tools like ChatGPT and Claude, two of the most widely used AI assistants available today. You'll learn what these tools are actually good at, where they fall short, and how to get the most out of them for real everyday tasks like drafting emails, summarizing documents, and brainstorming ideas.
Along the way, you'll also learn how to stay safe and smart: what information to keep private, how to spot when an AI has gotten something wrong, and why you're always the one in charge.
All subscriptions are provided at no cost to participants. We encourage everyone to bring a laptop if they have one. Chromebooks are available at the library for those who need one.
Sessions run once a week for four weeks, 60 minutes each.
Registration is required. To sign up, please email us at digitalnavigatormonterey@gmail.com and we'll get you set up. We hope to see you there!
