Material Shift, a group show is co-curated by artists and longtime friends Pat Badt and Julie Shapiro, and will open on Friday, August 1, with a reception that evening from 5:30-7 p.m. Each of the six participating mid-career artists was asked to present work in several of the mediums in which they work. This led to a wide variety for the exhibit that viewers will enjoy, and includes a few surprises. Painted surfaces, architectural structures, and sound environments are shown to be avenues that allow the artists’ expansion of ideas. As Badt states, the featured work “invites viewers into a conversation about process, perception, and the layered meanings that emerge when artists move fluidly between disciplines.” Please join us for the opening, or see Material Shift while on view, through September 6, 2025.
