Digital Resources:

Here are some hints for online content:

CWMARS has quite a selection from Overdrive.  What you’ll need to do is download Libby from the App Store, which is free.  You’ll need to enter Monterey Library as Home Library, and CWMARS as the library network.  Then enter your library card details, the card number and password, and borrow away.  There are books and audiobooks available.  Use your preferences to modify default searches  and display settings.  If you’d like to see what other library networks in Massachusetts have, you can!  In the app menu, find “Add A Library.” Under that search for SAILS, CLAMS, MINUTEMAN or any of the others. Tap that network and you can search their offerings.  You’ll need to enter your card number and pin after you select “I’m visiting from another library.”

If you’d like more options, including streaming videos, you’ll want an e-card from the Boston Public library.  Sign up for an e-card using your CWMARS card.  Then you’ll need to download HOOPLA from the App Store.  The trick with this app is that it needs a location as items are supposed to be borrowed by residents.  To begin with, the BPL e-card is available to anyone who owns property in Massachusetts, or is a student, or resident of the state.  But when you use HOOPLA and create an account they will want a home library.  The nearest HOOPLA library by location is Norfolk CT—and you won’t have a Norfolk card. What you need to do is list Boston as your home library.  You can download any of the HOOPLA offerings that way.

Another option through the BPL is KANOPY.  Watch over 30000 Documentaries, Classic and Indie Films. You’ll need to download the KANOPY app.  Use your BPL card number and pin, and make sure to use BPL as your home library.

For any of this you’ll need a CWMARS card.  If you don’t have one, please email montereylibrary@gmail.com.  We can help you get the card number and pin that will allow access to these services.

Reserve or Download Books, Audio, Video

Click here to download audio, video or eBooks: this link will bring you to Overdrive where you can borrow e-Materials from across the state!

Search the CWMARS catalog for a wide array of e-books, e-audio books and e-videos for instant download.

PowerSearch makes it possible to find subjects from A-Z in one or several of the Gale’s periodical databases in a single search. This is especially good for subjects that may be covered more than one database, such as diets, careers, etc.

Gale databases are funded and supported by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Library System
